17 Jan DO YOU ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO EAT TUNA?
Tuna has been found to have several health benefits and many scientists have recommended that both adults and children should incorporate the fish into their diets. Studies on children have also suggested tuna consumption can be linked to intelligence.
As people who are in the industry, ATUNA wants to know how much tuna your child eats.
A recent study from the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Nursing found children that ate more tuna, on average had a higher IQ and had fewer sleep disturbances. This is said to be down to the Omega-3 fatty acids found in tuna which play a role in brain neurological function.
One of the conclusions from the study was fish should be added to a child’s diet incrementally. Unless the child is introduced to fish, including tuna, early on, they could shy away from it, the co-author of the study stated.
Similar studies have also shown children that regularly consume fish have better language and communication skills, while those that do not, are less likely to experience the same beneficial effects.
